Kikiwai – Toronto; Closed because of Rodents

If you have been downtown to check out the well-known Anime store to hobbyists and fans alike, you most likely were greeted with a dark store with a note containing a phone number and a bunch of papers on the floor slipped under the door.

Apparently, Kikiwai has been infested by rodents, and I was probably one of the first people to see this back on December 8, 2008. I believe they last opened on the December 7 as all of the notes are posted on December 8.

I went back again on December 18 to see if that has been cleared up… but apparently it was still the same. Only this time I came with my digital camera to take pictures. I posted them up on facebook…

I went for another visit again on January 8, 2009, and yes, it is still closed right now.

I hope that everything is fine with the manager and the store itself. I know for sure that they are one of the best hobby stores in Toronto that sells imported mangas. I hope they’ll be able to open shop again soon.

I’m still looking for Ga-Rei manga in Toronto so yeah… I would probably prefer to get the imports, rather than the licenced version from the US.

That’s inside. Nothing has been touched since I last visit on January 8.

Those are the papers slipped under the door. There’s probably about a good 6-10 sheets of paper lying there.

Then we found this paper on the floor inside slipped under the door. Its talking about how to treat a rodent infestation.
